Meet Joanna
Strategic Change Advisor
Joanna (she/her) infuses her work with passion and expertise. With over 15 years of experience in trauma-informed spaces, she offers a unique perspective. Joanna is a dedicated advocate for gender-based violence and diversity, comprehending the complexities organizations encounter in supporting staff through challenging times. As a registered social service worker, and holding an undergraduate in communications with a master's in education, her commitment to training and policy development is at the cornerstone of her work.
Joanna has supported several organizations with creating and revamping their policies and procedures, including approaches to client and service user care. She has created and facilitated numerous training initiatives, rooted in trauma-informed approaches, providing tools and appropriate resources. Additionally, she has lend her expertise at Western University, focusing on reducing workplace harassment and violence, promoting education in the workplace through research, collaboration and policy change.
Presently, Joanna teaches at a post-secondary level and works for a local health organization. She is also the Community Advocacy Chair with the Gender Equality Coalition of Ontario, advancing gender equity within communities. In her spare time, you can find her on the local trails, exploring markets or at the park with her son.
